Introduction to Watercolour
Duration: 2hrs 30mins
Cost: $72 (all equipment supplied)
Are you curious about watercolour and want to learn more? This class is designed for those who are new to watercolour or looking to build a strong foundation. Together, we’ll begin by exploring the tools of the trade—understanding brushes, paints, paper, and how each one contributes to the magic of watercolour. From there, we’ll dive into the essentials: learning basic techniques such as washes, blending, wet-on-wet, and wet-on-dry, while also practicing expressive brush strokes.
Each step is hands-on and playful, encouraging you to experiment and discover how water and pigment work together in unique and surprising ways. You’ll gain confidence as you explore mark-making, colour mixing, and the gentle balance between control and letting go.
By the end of the class, you’ll bring together what you’ve learned to create an original piece of art—a reflection of your own creativity and new skills. This is a joyful, supportive space to begin your watercolour journey where I hope you go away with excitement to continue playing with this medium.
