Negative painting in watercolour is a beautiful and often surprising technique because instead of a focus on painting the object itself, your focus becomes about painting the space around it. This approach creates shapes, highlights, and forms by leaving parts of the paper unpainted or lighter, while building up darker washes around them.

During this workshop you will learn how to plan a scene as well as various fun techniques that will elevate your piece. This style also lends to a mixed media approach where you can add other mediums to elevate your piece.
