This workshop is all about exploring the fundamental techniques used by watercolourists. You’ll be learning how to paint succulents and cacti using two complementary watercolour techniques—wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry—so you can see how they behave side by side and then combine them in your own original artwork.

Using what we’ve practiced, each artist will create their own original piece—layering washes, exploring both techniques, and capturing the unique personality of their chosen plant.

• Perfect for beginners and those wanting to expand their watercolour skills
• Observation of real succulents and cacti (brought into the studio) to study their colours, shapes, and light as well as the use reference images to expand our choices and compositions.
• Includes some basic drawing
• Brushes, paper and paint will be provided but please feel free to bring your preferred tools of the trade as this workshop will assist on how to use what you already have.
